USBasp is a USB in-circuit programmer for AVR. It simply consists of an ATMega 128 or an ATMega 8 and a couple of passive components. The programmer uses a firmware-only USB driver and no special USB controller is needed. Program new bootloaders or firmware into a wide range of microcontrollers using this ICSP programmer with a USB interface. Compatible with the popular USBasp and fully supported by the Arduino IDE, allowing you to install or update boot loaders on Arduino-compatible boards and on your own custom-made Arduino-compatible projects.
