    Description

    Offered is a Navajo coin silver bracelet cuff by Perry Shorty. It is in excellent condition. This bracelet's inside measurement is 5 5/8 inches tip to tip plus there is an additional 1.5 inch gap for a total wearing size of 7 1/8 inches. The maximum height is 3/8 of an inch and the bracelet tapers toward the terminals. Weight is 46.3 grams. The inside is stamped P. Shorty, Coin Silver.
    There is a reason that every year at Santa Fe's Indian Market Perry Shorty sells out almost immediately. Born in 1964 in Ganado, Arizona, he has stated: "I try to keep things simple. The old smiths didn't have a lot of tools and materials to work with, and I like doing it their way." His hand-forged jewelry is made from melted U.S. Barber coins. They are made in the style of Navajo jewelry from 1880-1940. Perry Shorty is a master of very precise stampwork. His pieces are seen as elegant simplicity but his jewelry making techniques are quite complex.
