1896 *Educational* United States Silver Certificate RARE Fr 269 Bruce-Roberts

Up for sale today is one of the most beautiful, rare, and highly collected notes in currency. It is an 1896 Educational series "Presenting Electricity to the World". This is the most intricately engraved design in all of US currency history. This is also the tougher Fr 269 with Bruce-Roberts signatures, semi-key of all Educationals.
The note grades Good to Very Good in my opinion. It is very well circulated. It has a torn upper corner, a tear at bottom center, and several pinholes. But all of the design elements are still clearly visible, and the torn corner is contained to the margin and not into the design. Also has a partial bank stamp from Washington. Kinda adds charm to the note knowing it was in our nation's capitol back at the turn of the century and what it must have seen! Please check scans and judge grade for yourself. Still a great starter note for a series that is rarely affordable. I hardly ever see this denomination under ,000 even for rags. I think a professional conservator could easily repair the corner as none of the design is missing, and restore the note to a more pleasing appearance. But I will leave that up to the new owner.
