To help prevent scratching during shipment, faces are shipped with the plastic protective coating intact.  Carefully peel the clear coating off and clean with rubbing alcohol to dislodge the smaller bits between letters.

These faces are shipped with a protective film to help prevent scratching during shipment.  Please remove the film before contacting me to tell they are defective.  Rubbing alcohol helps clean bits of film from the centers of letters.
